Pashinyan Criticizes Russian Economic Restrictions on Armenia
Russian Economic Restrictions Are a Mistake That Pushes People Against the EAEU, Pashinyan Says

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has criticized Russia's economic restrictions on Armenia, arguing they represent a strategic mistake that alienates the Armenian public from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
Speaking in Gegharkunik province, Pashinyan expressed concern that Moscow's economic measures are counterproductive to maintaining Armenia's membership in the regional trade bloc. He suggested the restrictions undermine public support for Armenia's participation in the EAEU and its broader relationship with Russia.
The comments reflect ongoing tensions in Armenia-Russia relations and highlight economic pressures facing Armenia as it navigates regional geopolitical complexities. Armenia has been a EAEU member since 2015, alongside Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
