OSCE prepares observer mission for Armenia's June elections

International election observers are preparing for Armenia's June 7 parliamentary elections following a pre-election assessment visit to Yerevan.

Jevrosima Pejović, a Montenegrin parliamentarian and vice chair of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's political affairs committee, led a two-day delegation visit to evaluate election preparations and the political environment. She met with government officials, election administrators, political parties, civil society groups, and media representatives.

"The openness we experienced over the last two days shows a strong willingness to engage with the international community," Pejović said in a statement.

More than 100 parliamentarians and staff from over 30 countries are expected to deploy as observers during the election. The mission represents a joint effort by the OSCE, ODIHR, the Council of Europe's parliamentary assembly, and the European Parliament. This marks the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's twelfth election observation in Armenia since 1995.
